Gently Hugged
The North County Moms is pleased to acknowledge the work of this North County nonprofit!
Gently Hugged is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by 2 nurses working in public health who noticed many local families struggling to acquire basic necessities for their newborns.
You can help babies in need stay warm and thrive by donating new and gently used clothing in sizes newborn to 12 months, along with blankets, bibs, and hats. Handmade items and new board books are also welcomed.
Items in all sizes and types for an infant’s first year are lovingly packed by Gently Hugged volunteers and distributed by nurses and social workers to low income, military, and disadvantaged newborns at hospitals, clinics, and social service agencies throughout San Diego.
In addition to your donations, you may help by organizing clothing drives and placing collection bins at events and businesses that are frequented by young families.

February Fourteen: 2/14 is the first title of the budding children’s book series that celebrates the holidays kids love!
Valentine’s Day
…returns on the same day each year, just like other family and child-favorite events. But young kids don’t always know when those celebration dates dot the calendar.
Questions like: “When is Valentine’s Day going to be here? What season is Valentine’s Day? When do I get to give my heart cards?” compelled author María Felicia Kelley to answer her son’s questions in the form of the books, February Fourteen: 2/14, October Thirty-One: 10/31 and December Twenty-Five: 12/25!
Constantine’s curiosity drove his mom’s creativity and growing book series. Thanks to the book, the seasons, the months of the year, and holiday dates around the calendar are fun topics to explore. Inspired by Constantine, María Felicia Kelley created the Celebrate the HoliDates® children’s book series to entertain and inform.
February Fourteen: 2/14 is book #1 of the Celebrate the HoliDates® series. It’s three-reads-in-one featuring a story about the fun of the season of love, a journey through the history of Valentine’s Day (How did the ritual of exchanging cards begin?) and a special original recipe for a gooey chocolate-strawberry
