Teens unite for a cause
Carlsbad teens are uniting to honor the memory of a friend they’ve lost. Nineteen-year-old Miguel Mozo Hernandez, who preferred the name Angel, lost his life last Saturday in his Encinitas neighborhood.

The sudden loss has brought together his high school friend group. Their goal is to help Angel’s family absorb funeral costs and other expenses resulting from Angel’s untimely death.
GoFundMe goal
With a GoFundMe set up to benefit Angel’s family, the teens felt they needed to take action. They are channeling the pain of losing Angel into a productive activity that directly helps their friend’s family.
The group has circulated social media posts and stories throughout the community for the past 48-hours. The teens have been asking neighbors to donate to the GoFundMe with a paid carwash. Their efforts, in conjunction with generous donations from those close to the friends, are paying off; the fund has nearly reached its goal.

This weekend, Angel’s friends plan to be out in force throughout the community to continue raising funds in their friend’s memory and for Angel’s family.
