San Diego Theatres is excited to bring Blippi: Join the Band Tour to the Civic Theatre on June 22. It’s an interactive show the whole family will enjoy!
As we gear up for the fun later this month, today The North County Moms is sharing our featured interview about the popular TV show’s stage production. Toddlers and young children have enjoyed Blippi on their screens, full of innovative instruction, for more than a decade.
Now, a live theatrical version is headed our way! Read on to discover important details that the Blippi Production Team (BPT) shared with The North County Moms (TNCM) about the upcoming, interactive show.

TNCM: What a unique idea for a traveling children’s show! How did the idea for Blippi: Join the Band Tour come about?
BPT: The Blippi: Join the Band Tour idea stemmed from the success of Blippi online content and the recognition that live performances were a natural next step. The tour aims to provide a dynamic and engaging concert experience for young children, focusing on music and high production value to keep kids and parents entertained.
TNCM: What ages will best enjoy the show?
BPT: The show is catered for ages 2 to 6 but as an action-packed live stage show, Blippi: Join the Band Tour is enjoyable for the whole family! All ages must have their own ticket. $15 lap tickets are available for children ages 2 and under the day of show.
TNCM: Will the performers, Blippi and Meekah, be the same actors that kids are used to seeing on the TV/digital series?
BPT: For Blippi: Join the Band Tour, the characters Blippi and Meekah will be played by professional stage performers selected specifically for the tour.

TNCM: What can parents/caregivers and their kids expect to experience when they attend Blippi: Join the Band Tour?
BPT: The whole family will experience a brand-new production featuring musicians playing LIVE on stage that promises to bring the vivacious, energetic and educational antics of global sensation Blippi to the stage in a never-before-seen show.
TNCM: Is the show an interactive experience?
BPT: Yes, the Blippi: Join the Band Tour is a highly interactive experience designed for young children.
TNCM: Should kids (families) bring their own musical instruments?
BPT: No, kids and families are generally not expected or permitted to bring their own musical instruments to Blippi Join the Band Tour. While the show encourages audience participation and movement, it’s not designed for audience-provided instruments.
TNCM: Do kids have to participate, or can they simply watch the performance?
BPT: The show encourages kids to stand, jump, clap, and dance along with Blippi and his friends.
TNCM: Will songs be familiar to kids or will Blippi introduce new songs to the audience as part of the show?
BPT: Both! Blippi and Meekah, along with their singing and dancing buddies and LIVE musicians, will explore what makes music, including sounds, rhythms and instruments, with fan-favorite Blippi hits and brand-new songs.
TNCM: How long is the show? Is there an intermission?
BPT: A typical performance of Blippi: Join the Band Tour is around 80 minutes in length, including one 20-minute intermission.

TNCM: How many tour dates are there for Blippi: Join the Band Tour and in which cities is the show performing?
BPT: More than 15 dates that will include San Diego of course, Anaheim, San Jose, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Bakersfield, Santa Rosa, Modesto, Redmon, Salem, Tacoma and more!
TNCM: Is this the first time Blippi has hit the road on a national tour?
BPT: No! Blippi on Tour has traveled the globe multiple times and has delighted millions of international fans throughout North America, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, with plans to visit
many more new countries in 2025 and beyond.
