The Mayor’s National Anthem Contest — Call for Entries
Think you’ve got what it takes to sing our nation’s most iconic song?
We’re now accepting submissions for the Mayor’s National Anthem Contest. One local performer will be selected to sing The Star-Spangled Banner live at the 61st Annual Independence Day Festival at Grape Day Park on July 4, 2026.
How to Enter
Record a one-minute video of yourself singing The Star-Spangled Banner (a cappella or with minimal accompaniment).
Upload your video to:
• YouTube (Public or Unlisted), or
• Google Drive (with a publicly viewable link)
Then submit your entry through the form and include your video link.
Guidelines
• Open to North County San Diego residents (all ages welcome)
• Deadline: Wednesday, June 17 at 11:59 PM
• Video must be one minute or less and family-friendly
• One entry per person
• Finalists must be available to perform live on July 4 at 4:30 PM at Grape Day Park
How the Winner Is Chosen
Mayor Dane will select one winner to perform live at the festival.
By submitting, you give the California Center for the Arts, Escondido permission to share your video for promotional use.
