New Year Cleanse: Day 8 — Awesome Almond Butter | The North County Moms

On my 21-day cleanse, my love of peanut butter shifts to a fascination with almond butter. While I prefer PB over AB, when I’ve restricted consumption of certain foods (peanut butter falls into that category during my cleanse), I gravitate to almond butter as a fun option.

Maria’s Cleanse Notes

Although, to me, almond butter is not as flavorful as peanut butter, its taste is pleasing and the texture rivals that of peanut butter. For that reason, it comes in as a close second in my book!

Almond butter is easy to incorporate into a breakfast meal or a soothing snack. Complementing carrot and celery sticks as a dipping butter or slathered on apple slices, it’s a satisfying add-on that even abstaining peanut butter lovers will cherish. Check out my almond butter post from last year to dig deeper. And take a peek at Francesca’s nutritional commentary on the beauty of this creamy nut butter, below.

Francesca’s Take

Almond butter is a favorite snack food at my house, too! Packed with monounsaturated fats, it supports heart health by promoting healthy cholesterol levels. Vitamin E, an antioxidant, contributes to skin health and protects cells from oxidative damage. Almond butter has some protein, making it a good addition for those seeking plant-based protein alternatives.

The combination of fiber and healthy fats in almond butter helps regulate blood sugar levels and promote satiety, which, when associated with a hypocaloric diet, can help with weight loss.

Additionally, almond butter provides essential minerals like magnesium and phosphorus, supporting bone health and overall well-being. Incorporating almond butter into a balanced diet enhances nutritional intake and adds a deliciously creamy element to various dishes.
