Valentine's Day Strawberry Smoothie Bowl - The North County Moms

This story originally appeared on The Local Moms Network.

This Valentine’s Day Smoothie bowl is perfect for February 14th or any day you want to show your kids (or yourself!) a little love with an easy, but special, breakfast.

This filling (and pink!) strawberry smoothie bowl from Tabitha Blue, a Tampa, Florida-based mom of four who pens the popular Fresh Mommy Blog is fast enough to be a weekday staple but pretty enough to be served after a slumber party or for Mother’s Day Brunch. “It taste like strawberry ice cream while being filling and delicious,” says Tabitha.

Valentine’s Day Strawberries ‘n’ Cream Smoothie Bowl

Serves 1

  1. 1 cup frozen strawberries
  2. ½ cup Greek vanilla yogurt
  3. ¼ cup milk of choice (I use almond milk)
  4. 1 Tbsp. maple syrup
  5. Optional: 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Topping Options

  1. ½ cup cornflakes
  2. 5 strawberries, sliced (like a heart)
  3. Banana slices
  4. 2 Tbsp. almonds
  5. Extra yogurt to drizzle
  6. 2 Tbsp. coconut flakes
  7. Optional: 2 Tbsp. mini chocolate chips

Blend the strawberries, yogurt, milk, protein powder and maple syrup until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and top with the cornflakes, strawberries, bananas, almonds, coconut flakes, chocolate chips (if feeling extra decadent), and a drizzle of yogurt.
